Founder of Bergen County Speech Services, Christine Laganella is an ASHA-certified, New Jersey Licensed, and PROMPT-trained speech language pathologist with a range of pediatric and adult experience. Christine obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from New York University, where she worked with clients across the lifespan and began her love for speech therapy. Christine is experienced in early language development, receptive and expressive language delays, speech sound disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), cleft palate, and more. With previous experience in public schools across Manhattan and Northern New Jersey, Christine is deeply familiar with language development as it occurs in children from birth through high school. She is passionate about helping families and children develop communication skills that allow them to rise to their greatest potential. Christine uses a child-centered and play-based approach to therapy and understands the importance of entering a child’s world in order to establish trust and increase communicative success. She emphasizes caregiver involvement which aids in the carryover of learned skills to the home environment.

 

Christine trained with top voice speech language pathologists at New York University and Hackensack University Medical Center, where she became skilled in providing therapy to patients who have vocal nodules, polyps, spasmodic dysphonia, and functional voice disorders from overuse. She is also experienced in transgender voice and communication therapy and post-stroke therapy. Christine understands the importance of having a strong rapport with her clients, and she is sure to make you feel right at home in her office located conveniently on Route 17 N in Paramus, NJ.
